As we prepare to open the doors of Fuji Infinity International Preschool, I am filled with a deep sense of joy, hope, and purpose. The journey of starting a preschool is profound on its own, but beginning one that is firmly rooted in the principles of sustainability, empathy, and global citizenship feels like an urgent and hopeful calling, especially in today’s rapidly changing world. I know that as parents of young children, your hearts and minds are full of questions: Will my child be happy and safe? Will they learn everything they need to thrive in tomorrow’s world? At Fuji Infinity, our answer to these questions begins with one core belief- the earliest years of childhood are not only foundational for academic learning but are also the most powerful time to nurture values that will shape a child’s character and worldview.
Our approach at Fuji Infinity is simple but meaningful: children will of course learn to count, read, sing, and explore the wonders of their environment, but just as importantly, they will learn to care deeply for the world around them.
We have woven the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the very fabric of our daily curriculum and school life, ensuring these global ideals become tangible, understandable, and lived experiences for our youngest learners. From composting orange peels and watering plants, to sorting waste and observing insects in the gardens they help tend, children will discover the power of small actions. These moments will help them realize that though they may be small, their choices matter and ripple outward to affect the community, the environment, and the future.
Our classrooms and outdoor spaces have been thoughtfully designed to reflect harmony with nature. We plan to use non-toxic materials, maximize natural light, create shaded garden areas, and have specially designed spaces that invite curiosity and exploration. Inspired by Japanese sensibilities of balance, respect, and environmental care, values that align beautifully with our Indian cultural roots, we aim to nurture young hearts and minds in spaces that feel peaceful, welcoming, and full of life. Emotional well-being is a core focus, too. Through daily circle time, collaborative projects, and moments of reflection, children are gently going to be guided to express their feelings, take turns, listen deeply, and resolve conflicts with empathy and fairness. These social-emotional skills build resilience and kindness, laying the foundation for confident, compassionate individuals.
As we approach United Nations Day on October 24th-a day that marks the founding of the UN and symbolizes global hope, peace, and cooperation, we recommit ourselves to the values embodied in the 17Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs. We do not want these goals to remain abstract or distant ideals. Instead, we are determined to live them every day, embedding them into the joyful rhythms of our school community. For example, through initiatives like community drives, children will learn empathy and the importance of sharing resources, directly engaging with SDGs like No Poverty and Zero Hunger. Clean and safe spaces, nutritious meals, outdoor playtime and mindfulness practices will ensure that every child’s health and well-being are prioritized, reflecting SDG 3. Our curriculum is designed to be joyful, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate, championing SDG 4-Quality Education for every child, regardless of their background.
Gender equality will be honored through stories, role models, and equal opportunities, making SDG 5 a living value. Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6) will be taught through real-life activities such as measuring water use and exploring rainwater harvesting, giving children hands-on experiences that build awareness and responsibility. Responsible consumption will be practiced through recycling, composting, and teaching mindful use of materials, helping children understand that waste is not simply trash but a valuable lesson in stewardship.
From our tinkering corners where creativity and innovation flourish, to story walks that build community and celebrate diversity, every aspect of Fuji Infinity International will reflect our commitment to preparing children not just academically, but holistically for life. We plan to invite parents, neighbour, and community partners to join us for composting workshops, waste drives, tree planting days, and storytelling sessions. This will create a living, breathing community united by shared values and a collective vision for a better future.
At Fuji Infinity International, we are planting more than gardens; we are planting values !
So as we open our doors soon, we invite you to walk with us on this journey. Together, let’s raise children who not only thrive academically but who understand why it truly matters to care-about themselves, about each other, and about the planet we call home.
